The Legacy Classic is an eighteen hole shotgun start golf tournament that benefits the Education Foundation for Waxahachie ISD. Held each spring, the Legacy Classic has developed a first class reputation that offers amenities such as full catered lunches, top-of-the-line player gifts, and much more!

The primary purpose of the Education Foundation for Waxahachie ISD is to raise funds for innovative teacher grants and dual credit scholarships for high school students. One of the ways that the Foundation raises monies is through events and fundraisers such as the Legacy Classic. 

The Foundation serves to support projects that enhance the teaching environment in Waxahachie ISD schools, but are outside the district's regular budget. The Education Foundation is composed of twenty-one board members from across the community who volunteer their time to work side by side with the school district to augment programs that may otherwise not be implemented due to state funding cuts.

The Education Foundation for Waxahachie ISD is a non-profit 501 c(3) organization. Since its inception in 1999, the Foundation has awarded nearly $1 million in grants and scholarships to Waxahachie ISD students and staff.
